I bought my very first Christmas tree! It is a whopping 32" high and boasts a colorful array of fiber-optic lights. I also purchased some tiny ornaments including some snow man heads that I am obsessed with (pictured below.) Aren't they ADORABLE?? My boyfriend and I spent a ridiculously cheesy evening putting up the tree and decorating it while listening to Christmas music and eating apple pie. 
Downside: My cat has taken to chewing off the fake needles as well as pieces of the fiber optic glass! I bought some bitter spray stuff to put on it - which my boyfriend had to taste "just to be sure" and now cannot get the bitter out of his mouth. He's a smart one for sure. The bitter seems to be keeping her back for now, but I did find one of the cute snow men on the floor this morning! I would be devastated if she destroyed any of them. See, this is why I can't have nice things!
Anyway, merry whatever to all of you! I'll be coming home to Iowa in less than two weeks!

in the tradition of santa defacing!! Freyda tore off our santas sequin eyeballs never found the sequins still have the eyeless Santa ornament.
